Boston's signature Independence Day tradition returns to the Hatch Memorial Shell on the Esplanade. The Boston Pops play a free, televised concert that ends as the fireworks barge over the Charles lights up the sky. Gates open early afternoon and the lawn fills fast — locals stake out spots by 10am. Cambridge side and Memorial Drive viewing also strong. Massachusetts cannabis law (no public consumption) applies on the Esplanade; if you're 21+ and bringing edibles to a private balcony nearby, that's the lane.
