Head of the Charles Regatta 2026

The world's largest 3-day regatta returns to the Charles River October 16–18, 2026. Roughly 11,000 athletes from across the globe race the 3-mile course from BU Bridge to Eliot Bridge — viewing free and excellent on both Cambridge and Boston banks, with the best vantage points along Magazine Beach, Anderson Memorial Bridge, and the Weeks Footbridge. Plan for serious crowds; T to Harvard Square and walk in. Adults 21+ visiting from out of state should know Massachusetts law prohibits cannabis consumption on state-owned land and in public spaces — keep any pre-Race ritual to a private rental, not the riverbank.
