Mission Hill
Northeastern’s western edge, the Mission Church, and the brick-and-greenway neighborhood between the Fenway and JP.
Mission Hill sits south of the Fenway and west of Roxbury, anchored by Northeastern University's western expansion and the Mission Church (the Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help) at the top of the hill. The neighborhood is layered — the brick triple-decker housing stock that defines older Boston runs through the residential blocks, while the Tremont Street corridor carries the casual restaurant-and-bar rhythm. The Southwest Corridor greenway provides the walking-and-biking spine connecting Mission Hill to JP and Back Bay. For visiting adults 21+, Mission Hill's cannabis-retail presence has filled in alongside the surrounding South End and JP corridors, with shop access on the Tremont and Huntington corridors a short walk. The day shape suits a quieter Boston — a long Fenway museum morning, lunch on Tremont, an afternoon walk down the Southwest Corridor, and a casual evening anywhere on the hill or back across the Fenway.
